NETGEAR(NASDAQ: NTGR), the leading provider of networking products that power businesses both large and small, today announced it has executed a definitive agreement to acquire Exium, a unique provider of advanced cybersecurity solutions designed to meet the increasingly sophisticated threats facing businesses.

The strategic purchase hands down a game-changer for networking and security in the SME/MSP community, an unparalleled, integrated solution.

The purchase is yet another strategic step in NETGEAR’s efforts to invest in and integrate with cloud-based platforms and applications featuring next-generation networking, which delivers easy-to-use, and dependable and cost effective solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.

Exium’s state-of-the-art technology will be incorporated into NETGEAR’s portfolio, offering the world’s first truly integrated networking and security solution designed from the ground up for this important market segment.

Gartner estimates that the SASE market is experiencing strong growth; with a CAGR of 29% it is expected to reach more than $25 billion by 2027. This expansion reflects the accelerating global demand for cloud-native security and networking offerings.

Pramod Badjate, President and General Manage at NETGEAR for Business, emphasized the timeliness of this incorporation. “AI has changed the threat on the ground for businesses, and now companies of all sizes are targets – but many of the solutions available to SMEs are just too complicated and difficult to manage without hiring in the expertise,” Badjate added.

“Adding Exium’s SASE solution to our Insight cloud management platform will enable our customers to take advantage of a frictionless, essentially unified solution which can be easily delivered and managed by small IT teams or MSPs.”

Exium carries a deep competence in building and deploying scalable network and security solutions, catering the smart SASE service to MSPs for a fast client onboarding and support. Farooq Khan, the CEO of Exium, will be adding to the NETGEAR for Business executive leadership team and will remain at the helm of the company’s SASE initiative.

“Exium was founded to solve the cybersecurity issues small and medium-size businesses face, especially with limited solutions that are easy to manage,” said Khan. “We see the world through the same lens as NETGEAR and are thrilled to have the opportunity to work together to bring enterprise-class, fully connected networking and security solutions to this critical market segment.

The deal is conditional on standard closing requirements and is expected to close by Q2 2025. Such acquisition allows NETGEAR to deliver a fully integrated solution for businesses of any size combining wired and wireless networking with security applications, network management, mobile devices as well as cloud and on-premises server infrastructure – removing the complexity from IT in general and significantly improving security for SMEs around the world.
