Genpact Acquires XponentL Data: A Bold Move to Drive AI Innovation

In a key transaction that would ramp up AI-driven transformation across sectors, global professional services firm Genpact (NYSE: G) has inked a definitive agreement to acquire XponentData L and its proprietary AI-based solutions – XponentTM Data & Cloud Enhanced WorkflowTM, Hotspex Tools & Tracking and socialPulse Brand Health Check – for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition, which became effective when closed on June 5 2025, highlights Genpact’s focused shift toward an AI-first strategy future, as it looks to provide superior value to clients with state-of-the-art data and AI.

XponentL Data brings strong, differentiated, domain-led data strategy, design, and engineering capabilities to Genpact, along with comprehensive industry experience and strategic partnerships with leading data platforms, which include Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, and Databricks.

The addition of this capability will further strengthen Genpact’s capability to help companies navigate the entire AI journey – from strategy through to executing AI at scale.

“This acquisition marks a key milestone for Genpact’s strategy and for our clients, marrying Unbxd’s cutting-edge and disruptive AI powered next-generation capabilities with Genpact’s data, analytics, digital transformation, and services skills, all at the massive scale and speed that businesses demand,” said Balkrishan “BK” Kalra, President and Chief Executive Officer, Genpact. XponentL’s powerful IP will further enhance how Genpact can support clients unlock the full value of their data.”

The buy will in particular provide a thrust to Genpact’s “Service-as-Agentic-Solutions” and its “AI Gigafactory” programs. “XponentAI’s deep domain expertise in end-to-end solutions, including the Life Sciences and Health Care sectors, coupled with their deep expertise in enterprise data and AI strategy, architecture, and engineering talent will help drive operational efficiency and business growth for clients which are doing business in the emergent agentic AI age.

Tom Johnstone, CEO, XponentL Data, and who remains at the helm of the business as part of Genpact, expressed the strength of the match: “Genpact and XponentL have common aspirations in unlocking the power of data for our clients – this is the opportunity to take it to the next level.” The entire team of XponentL employees will become members of Genpact to safeguard continuity and to seamlessly infuse synergistic skills.

Terms were not announced, but the purchase is seen as a strategic move by Genpact to further cement its leadership in AI-driven transformation by providing an approach to data-led innovation that is holistic and scalable for the clients it serves around the world.
