Blackpoint Cyber, a leader in Managed Detection and Response, today announced a partnership with UKON, a progressive cyber insurance marketplace, in a ground breaking initiative that will reset the cyber risk landscape for Managed Service Providers.

This partnership will enable MSPs to deliver the most complete proposition on Cyber Resilience, combining leading cybersecurity protection with smart cyber insurance.

Together, the alliance plans to change the way MSPs evaluate and address cyber risk, provide access to essential insurance coverage and deliver improved security results for their customers. This is a proactive model and indicates a move toward …the coming of the “Cyber Risk Advisor” where the MSP is much more at the center of guiding the business to manage the ever increasing financial exposure to cyber threats.

The collaboration positions Blackpoint Cyber’s 24/7 human-powered MDR platform and SOC alongside UKON’s embedded insurance distribution capability and financial grade risk intelligence.

This integration will set a new bar for proactive cyber protection, allowing MSPs to participate in more informed risk-based conversations, comply with the growing number of insurance and compliance mandates, and deliver integrated security to their entire client base.

Mike Yang, Chief Financial Officer at Blackpoint Cyber, underscored the synergy, saying, “Our partnership with UKON is an organic fit for Blackpoint.

Collectively, we are providing a more intelligent and scalable model for addressing cyber risk by marrying operational security with financial protection. This partnership is a victory for our partners, their customers, and the extended channel.”

“We are excited to work with Blackpoint and stand ready to support the company in addressing the needs of this exciting new market,” added UKON CEO Cole Knuth, who cited Blackpoint’s excellent reputation. “Blackpoint is not your ordinary partner.

They bring reputation, rigor and reach. They have a track record in defending in real life, enough said. Teaming up with industry leader Blackpoint further signals the power of our ecosystem and raises the bar for all Cyber Risk Advisors on our platform.”

The partnership will meet an increasing demand in the market for a cohesive cybersecurity and insurance offering. Using Blackpoint’s real-time threat intelligence to feed into UKON’s risk modelling, the partnership streamlines the underwriting process by ensuring that MSPs can evidence the clear efficacy of the security controls they have in place.

This combined methodology presents new income possibilities for MSPs in the cyber insurance consulting and breach readiness assessment categories while mitigating the unknown for clients.

The partnership made its official debut live at the Pax8 Beyond event taking place June 8-10, 2025 in Denver, Colorado. The strategic partnership marks a major step forward in closing the divide between cyber defense and cyber insurance and providing businesses with a holistic, data-driven solution to address the changing threat landscape.
