Charles Taylor InsureTech, the technology division of the global insurance services firm Charles Taylor, today announced the launch of Bordereaux Sync, an innovative AI-powered solution set to transform bordereaux data management across the insurance market. Developed in collaboration with Microsoft and other key technology partners, Bordereaux Sync leverages advanced artificial intelligence to dramatically improve the accuracy and efficiency of insurance data processing.

Bordereaux, detailed reports summarizing risks, premiums, and claims, are fundamental to delegated authority business within the insurance industry. However, their management has historically been a labour-intensive process, prone to errors due to inconsistent formats and manual handling.

Bordereaux Sync directly addresses these challenges by intelligently screening and cleansing data files before they enter existing bordereaux management systems, such as Charles Taylor’s own Tide platform.

The new tool employs a powerful combination of generative AI and agentic AI. Generative AI continuously evolves and refines its understanding of data patterns, while agentic AI, a proactive technology blending machine learning, natural language processing, and automation, can analyze vast amounts of information and make intelligent decisions about data accuracy.

This dual approach enables Bordereaux Sync to identify and correct discrepancies like missing fields, mismatched currencies, and other inconsistencies, providing a consolidated summary of fixed issues and flagging any problems it cannot automatically resolve.

Kieran Maloney, Head of Global Managed Services and London Market at Charles Taylor InsureTech, emphasized the tool’s precision and impact. “Bordereaux Sync is a precision tool that resolves errors and inconsistencies, saves time, and reduces operational costs,” Maloney stated. “It’s a natural complement to Tide, our bordereaux management platform, but can be used by anyone in the insurance community who handles bordereaux.”

Philip Fumey, CTO and Digital Strategist at Microsoft, highlighted the collaborative success, noting, “Our collaboration on the development of Bordereaux Sync underlines how AI-powered tools can transform vital insurance activities and increase operational efficiency.”

As a standalone SaaS solution, Bordereaux Sync is designed for seamless integration with any existing bordereaux platform. Crucially, it also supports Lloyd’s Coverholder Reporting Standards v5.2, promoting greater standardization across the market. A beta version of Bordereaux Sync is slated for rollout to select clients in Summer 2025, with a wider market release to follow, promising to usher in a new era of data integrity and operational efficiency for the insurance sector.
