Albavisión, a prominent Latin American media conglomerate, is reportedly the latest victim of the emerging GLOBAL GROUP ransomware gang. The cybercriminal collective has claimed responsibility for a significant breach, alleging the theft of 400 GB of sensitive data and issuing a 15-day ultimatum for negotiations. Should Albavisión fail to engage, GLOBAL GROUP threatens to publicly release the exfiltrated information.

Headquartered in Miami, Albavisión operates an extensive network across Latin America, encompassing approximately 45 television channels, 68 radio stations, print publications, and around 65 movie theaters in 14 to 15 Spanish-speaking countries.
