Super Micro Computer, Inc. (SMCI), a leader in total IT solutions, has announced its sixth annual Open Storage Summit, a free virtual conference set to commence on August 12 and run through August 28, 2025. This expanded event will delve into the critical impact of AI workloads on modern storage infrastructure, featuring an impressive lineup of 40 expert speakers from 23 participating companies across nine in-depth sessions.

The 2025 summit marks a significant expansion from last year’s seven sessions, underscoring the rapidly evolving landscape of data storage driven by the proliferation of Artificial Intelligence. A central theme will be the transformative effect of AI workloads, particularly enterprise inference and data management, on storage solutions.

“Changes in AI workloads, particularly enterprise inference and the impact on storage and data management, is a major theme at the Supermicro Open Storage Summit,” stated Michael McNerney, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Network Security at Supermicro. “The complexity of modern IT and AI solutions, from systems, silicon, networking, software and storage media, requires open solutions with the leaders in these fields collaborating to deliver the best customer solutions and Supermicro is top this effort.”

Attendees can expect to gain actionable insights into a variety of pressing topics, including tiered storage for AI workloads, the implications of agentic AI on storage solutions, and the growing trend of Storage-as-a-Service (StaaS) for Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). The summit will also explore new developments in distributed inference frameworks and the modernization of enterprise applications for AI, encompassing technologies like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Generative AI (GenAI).

Key sessions include a deep dive into tiered storage architectures on August 12, featuring Supermicro, NVIDIA, Scality, WEKA, and Kioxia. August 13 will focus on Agentic AI storage solutions with Supermicro, AMD, DDN, and SanDisk. Later sessions will address topics such as Storage-as-a-Service for CSPs, enterprise AI using RAG, and the role of data lakes and lakehouses in enterprise AI.

The diverse roster of participating companies includes industry giants like AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, Nutanix, Solidigm, and Western Digital, alongside new entrants such as MinIO, Scality, and customers like Iron Mountain and Voltage Park. The event will be hosted by theCUBE and SiliconANGLE, providing expert analysis and discussions.

For data center managers and IT professionals grappling with the demands of AI-driven data, the Supermicro Open Storage Summit promises to be an invaluable resource, offering practical guidance and fostering collaborative innovation in the ever-evolving world of storage. Registration for the free virtual conference is now open.
