Altair, a pioneer in cloud solutions for product design, engineering, and high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI), revolutionizes the aerospace industry with the introduction of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven engineering software at the Paris Air Show.

The company showcased how its new technologies are helping to make smarter designs, faster development cycles, more efficient manufacturing and in-the-air performance for the next era in aviation.

During the press conference at their booth (H155, Hall 2B), Altair demonstrated a number of significant AI-driven technologies. These comprised smart simulation tools that use machine learning to forecast structural performance, minimize materials for weight and sustainability, and speed up design loop times.

Demos illustrated how with AI-aided modeling, engineers can go through a larger design space and find best candidates for a solution in a fraction of time compared to using conventional approaches.

In addition, it introduced progress in smart manufacturing which put more focus on its real time data analytics and AI algebra that will help production lines run more efficiently, warn manufacturers when defects are on the horizon and lower waste in a plug and pay package.

The company demonstrated the impact of digital twins coupled with AI for predictive maintenance, which supports predictive action for reducing downtime for aircraft operators.

Pietro Cervellera, senior vice president of aerospace and defense at Altair, said, “AI, data and connectivity are not futuristic terms, they are today’s competitive advantages. References: “Altair technology is advancing the aerospace industry, introducing fundamentally new levels of performance, sustainability, and innovation.

And we’re taking the next step as we integrate Siemens’ technology to aggressively advance the development of AI capable of inspiring our customers to try placing impossible items into that brown-FedEx truck or onto that passenger jet at levels never before achievable.”

Altair also emphasized its dedication to innovation in the aerospace ecosystem. The Altair Aerospace Startup Acceleration Program (ASAP) was introduced as a core initiative to provide emerging business with mature, enterprise-grade AI-powered applications that enable them to deliver emerging technologies to market faster.

Last month, Altair also announced its partnership with Italy’s Campania Aerospace District (DAC), the first-of-a-kind, offering more than 150 SMEs and startups access to Altair’s offerings.

The presentations at the Paris Air Show highlighted Altair’s vision for a connected aerospace ecosystem in which artificial intelligence facilitates a smooth, effortless flow of data and joins a fluid collaboration between design, engineering, operations, and maintenance.

This unified method, they say, will help to improve the feedback cycles, bolster risk management, and speed up overall industry innovation.

Throughout the Paris Air Show (June 16-22), booth visitors will experience live demonstrations of these disruptive AI-driven engineering solutions and engage with Altair’s experts. The company’s participation at this world-class aerospace and defense event underscores its leadership in top the future of flight through AI.
