In a significant move to redefine the landscape of product engineering, L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has announced the launch of PLxAI, a proprietary GenAI-based framework designed to dramatically accelerate the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) for its global clientele. This innovative platform is set to serve clients across the Mobility, Sustainability, and Technology sectors by combining the power of Generative AI with conventional AI methods.

Developed by LTTS’s in-house team of seasoned PDLC experts, PLxAI provides a comprehensive, one-stop solution for creating scalable and reusable engineering solutions. The framework is built to support every stage of a product’s journey, from the initial concept and design to validation and crucial aftermarket services.

A key differentiator of PLxAI is its ability to capture and leverage a company’s existing knowledge, including what is often referred to as “tribal knowledge,” to deliver context-aware insights. This intelligence helps optimize product engineering, fostering a more efficient and precise workflow. The framework integrates smart prompting and contextual intelligence, enhancing processes like competitive benchmarking, component design, and automated validation planning.

LTTS has already seen remarkable traction with the new framework. Over 36 use cases are currently in various stages of deployment, with an additional 35 use cases in the design phase. These applications range from generating specifications and diagrams for component design to creating customizable templates for Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). The platform also supports the integration of digital twins, facilitating seamless physical and virtual testing, and employs proactive “agentic workflows” to automate complex, multi-step engineering tasks.

According to Alind Saxena, President and Executive Director of Mobility & Tech at L&T Technology Services, the enthusiastic reception from clients validates the framework’s transformative potential. “The development of PLxAI by our in-house AI experts is a testimony to LTTS’ engineering and technology capabilities,” Saxena stated. “It reaffirms our deep commitment toward driving global client success across Mobility, Sustainability, and Tech leveraging the power of AI and GenAI-based offerings.”

By accelerating the rate of innovation and optimizing costs, PLxAI is poised to reshape how businesses approach product development, unlocking new pathways for growth and efficiency in an increasingly competitive market. LTTS, a listed subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, continues to solidify its position as a global leader in engineering and technology services.
