Germany is on track to be a leader in industrial AI with major backing from motion tech company Schaeffler and AI computing firm Nvidia. The collaboration is an essential part of Nvidia’s ambitious plans to build the world’s first AI powered industrial cloud in Germany that is set to revolutionize manufacturing in EU.

Nvidia has also previously announced it is constructing a “AI factory” in Germany with 10,000 GPUs, including the RTX PRO Servers and the high-end NVIDIA DGX B200 systems. This infrastructure will extend across each element of manufacturing, from design and engineering, to simulation, to factory digital twins and robotics. Schaeffler is one of European manufacturers which, as it implements Nvidia-accelerated applications, is reshaping its end-to-end product lifecycles.

Schaeffler is adopting Nvidia’s physical AI stack for digital factory planning and to train human-like robotic skills, and to scale AI-driven automation across its 100-plus manufacturing facilities.

Using the Nvidia Omniverse ecosystem and independent software vendor Siemens’ software, Schaeffler is building holistic twins of its plants. It will allow for efficient, robust, and safe manufacturing, from factory to factory, giving a glimpse of a future with advanced simulations and AI-enabled operation across the value chain.

This partnership is more than just a hardware or software partnership. It represents a strategic direction to jointly pursue innovation in fields including robotics and automation. The goal is to develop smart, reconfigurable factory floors that are able to react dynamically to new requirements.

Together, Schaeffler and Nvidia are showcasing the significance of AI in the industrial environment and the impact of advanced technologies in increasing productivity, improving processes and long-term sustainability in an ever-changing, competitive global climate. This project is expected to pave the way for more AI development and adoption in European manufacturing.
